If you happen to receive a regular message "Password Expired " all 'boot in Windows XP, this happens because it was set a maximum period of validity for the password of that user.
The quickest way (you must have privileges amministartore) to eliminate the deadline is:
Start -> Run -> cmd -> OK
in the prompt, type net accounts / maxpwage: unlimited
then Enter.
The password for all local users will no longer expire.
